Is not the square root of positive 1 both plus and minus 1? Since by square rooting a number we get the number as an answer which squares up to be the original number? And if both plus 1 and minus 1 are squared, in both cases we get positive 1 as an answer.

I did it in a way where I used the tangent of D angle and calculated the value of BC using the value of tan60 and BD but the answer doesn't match the answer of my guide book.
